Papers of Henry James, 1888-1909.

The collection contains letters to Mrs. Cyril Flower, Mrs. Henry Harland, Horton, Anne Thackeray Ritchie, and Marriott Watson. James thanks Mrs. Flower for a present and mentions the death and funeral of Matthew Arnold. He informs Mrs. Ritchie that he has been on the continent, would like to see her, can't find an article on Browning which wouldn't have been useful anyway, and sends news of Leslie Stephen's illness. He thanks Watson for a compliment on his work which "puts heart into me" and inquires after his wife; invites Aline Howard to lunch; and gives an unidentified correspondent permission to print some of his pieces in a memorial to Mrs. Kemble.
